One BIG Cup

Image
I have been a bit down lately. Michael got me a daisy and a really neat cup planter I spotted at the store to cheer me up!

Cloth and Bobbin

Image
On Sunday we went to another new shop in Narberth, Pa. It was called Cloth and Bobbin. I really want to go back and explore the town! I think I could live there quite happily! The frist two prints are from Sole by Free Spirit. The sunflower print is HUGE - the flower is about the size of a dinner plate. The pink with orange dot is a Kaffee Fassett and the last orange print is Anastasia by P& B.

Spool

Image
On Saturday, we went to a new fabric shop on South Street called Spool! I got lots of cute fabrics there! The first print is Pinking Flower from Kaffee Fassett. The other fabrics are from Michael Miller's Posey and Ginger Blossom lines.

New Amy Butler

Image
I picked up another Amy Butler print today. This one is from the Midwest Modern line.

Attic Treasure Quilt

Image
A new quilt finished!!  This one is only 18 x 18 inches and I pulled the fabric from my reproduction fabric stash.

New Fabric

Image
I picked up this really cute Amy Butler print yesterday. It is from a line called "Lotus". The lace design is huge, about the size of a salad plate. I want to use it in the center of a quilt design. I want to slowly get a collection of these fabrics together, they are so pretty!

Two New Fabrics

Image
I got two new fabrics today. The bee fabric is from an RJR line called "Tea Party" and on the selvage it has the last part of a famous poem by Rupert Brooke that says "Stands the Church Clock at Ten to Three? And is there honey still for tea?" The other fabric is by Marcus Brothers, a Judy Rothermel 19th Century Backgrounds II collection.

Not Much Sewing Today

I did 10 more of the 142 blocks for Bonnie's latest mystery quilt. 31 done out of 142. WHY DO I KEEP DOING THESE quilts???? It drives me crazy when I am doing them but they are pretty when they are done! My Quilting Fairy called, she has another top done for me! I still have to finish the binding on my Carolina Crossroads quilt! AND we have been trying to get the garden together!

Thomas' Dad at Work

Image
Thomas is home sick today, keeping busy with his Legos. This is his Dad at work! Note the five o'clock shadow on the Lego - just like Michael!

Lovely home!

Image
This farmhouse is not to farm from my house and they have tons and tons of daffodils! Beautiful!

My New Quilt

Image
It was finally nice enough outside for the boys to hold my king-size quilt out over the deck so I could take a photo! I finished this one about two months ago and it's on my bed!

Thomas and his Legos....

Let's just say Thomas was being a bit creative, and leave it at that.

Reading Art Museum

Image
Last Tuesday, Michael and I had lunch at the Yellow Submarine in West Reading. Great cheesesteaks! We also went for a walk to the Reading Museum. There was some beautiful trees in bloom!

Sewing and Gardening!

Image
I finally got some sewing done! These are the first 150 patches needed for Bonnie's new mystery quilt - step 2 should be here soon!!!!! We also are adding some flower beds to the backyard ! We hope to enclose the area with flowers and maybe put chairs out there to sit in the summer.

Thomas is 9!

Image
Another busy week, and Thomas turned 9 on April 8th!  I have been doing bits and pieces of sewing this week and helped my friend embroider twelve blankets for her girls soccer team.  I also did some gardening.  Not enough hours in a week!

Busy Again - Karl and the National Geography Bee

Image
I have not gotten much quilting done lately!  Karl qualified for the PA State Geography Bee in Shippensburg, Pa.  that look place this week.  15,000 kids in grades 4-8 compete in schools across Pennsylvania and if you win your school geography bee, you take a written test and the top 100 kids scores in your state move on to the state bee.   At the first round of the state bee, Karl and 22 other kids scored perfect scores.  There was then a tie-breaker round because only the top 10 kids move on to the final round.  Karl got perfect scores through the tie-breaker round and was one of the 10 finalists to move on to the last round.  He did well, but got eliminated with another boy when there were 6 kids left.  He was happy that he made it further this year in the competition (last year he did not make it to the final 10) and is anxious to try again next year!
