Finally got my borders. On to the next step.

Oh boy..

Well, the Fall pumpkin quilt did not go so well, I tried machine quilting it and I did not like it one little bit!!  I LOVE MY QUILTING FAIRY!  - I wonder if she can hear me??  So, I thought let's take machine quilting out and hand quilt it.  Well, between my shoulder/arm and finger injury there was  no way to hand quilt it.  Then I spotted a little hole in the one pumpkin!!!!  It's more like a 1/4 inch slit.  I am frustrated.. I guess i could stitch in closed an maybe put a lady bug or bee button on it.   Hmm.. well then the seasons changed, so I decided to start a winter/christmas project.  I found a photo in one of my old magazines and decided to do it in christmas colors!

Final Borders on....

I got the borders on today!  Hurrah.  Yikes, now comes quilting.  I HATE my machine quilting....but I would like to hang this up soon!!

Slow Progress

I can only sew in bits and bites with this darn shoulder and arm injury!  I got the center of my pumpkin quilt put together today. Not sure if this will get done for this season.  Oh well!

Fall Quilt Top Finished!

Image
I finished my king size quilt top this am. It goes to my friend, Gisela, to quilt on her longarm machine in January. I am trying to be better about finishing my ufo's, this one was started last fall in 2006. My little boy and I had a fun time trying to fold this huge top up! It's 110 x 110 inches!

Thanksgiving and New Sampler Blocks

Image
Thanksgiving has come and gone. My dumpling dough really gave us a laugh! It definitely doubled when it rose! We had our second snow storm of the season today, so I spend the day catching up on my sampler blocks. I have one more block to catch up on!

The Quilt that Ate Kutztown!

Image
I managed to piece 1/2 of the quilt for our king-size bed. This is quite a task!!!! I think we need a smaller bed.

Fall Frolic

Image
I finished piecing this cute wallhanging this morning. Now I just have to quilt it!

My Retreat Quilt

Image
I started this project during a quilt retreat I went on in May. My sewing machine had broken during the retreat and when I took it home to get my other one, I stopped at the fabric store. I picked up some Loralie fabric with cartoony sewing machines and notions on it. I ended up making a twin size quilt to take with me use during my quilt retreats. My friend just finished quilting it on her longarm with a really neat sewing notion pattern!

Lanterns

Image
I finished piecing my lanterns quilt top today. Now I just have to layer it and quilt it. It helped lift my spirits using the bright colors and I added the butterflies thinking about Mom and that her spirit is now free.
