In the Hive

I tripped and fractured my shoulder and leg!  I hope I can post more stuff soon!

I have been so busy the last two weeks!!  Andrew passed his driver's test last friday, so he is officially driving!  Yikes!!!  Here are some shots from the week! You have to get up pretty early to catch my bees sleeping! My latest quilt block for a Fall pumpkin quilt: My latest quilt all done and bound! Flowers in bloom by the deck: Lots of tomatoes from the garden!  We have sungold, sweeties, and ice tomatoes!

I appliqued and pieced this cute little doll quilt today!!

Along with a blue and black butterfly, we also had this large bumblebee moth in the garden today.  Thomas and my friend and I all thought it was a bee at first!

Tom was busy with his legos again! My lily bloomed! Busy Bee! Orb Spider by deck - YIKES!

I picked lots of peppers from the garden this morning!

You Are a Cherry Flavored Popsicle You are sweet and friendly. For you, summer is all about doing your favorite things. You are a nostalgic person. You love old fashioned things like ice cream trucks. You savor everything. Every taste of summer, the feeling of the sun, the smell of the beach... Of all the types, you love summer the most. What Flavor Popsicle Are You?

We had three interesting storms today, the first two had plenty of hail!  It looked like Christmas! My hummer came to visit, and was fighting with another hummer in the air! Our friends gave us some bricks (a LOT of bricks) , so we attempted to brick in the world - well at least our little section of it!  Thanks Kathy and Art! We spotted some monarch caterpillars on some dying flowers.... and we have one very confused flower in our beds!!

My park is lovely! My Zinnia are blooming everywhere! We don't seem to have anyone in the butterfly box yet! I love dahlias! Morning Glory Madness! Mike's hard work of seed collecting paid off, I seeded the whole back area in front of the hedge and they are starting to come in thick! I did these malva from seed, they aren't as big a flower as I expected, but lovely. My delphinium just came into bloom - beautiful! I had my sweet potato vine on the deck and it was not doing well, so I moved it to the back.  It loves where it is now! The peppers are starting to come in! Mmmm... fresh peas! Another crazy morning glory!

I've resurfaced.  It's been a busy couple of weeks.  I helped my friend at the Hershey Quilt Show in July and since I have been home, I haven't had much time to blog!!!  I got some new fun fabrics at the show - Moda's Fresh Squeezed Fat Quarter bundle, Marcus Brother's Old Sturbridge Calicos bundle, and the new In the Pink II Bundle from Henry Glass.  I have done some bits of sewing here and there.  I have also been cooking a lot lately, my other favorite hobby!  The boys helped me make hot cross buns yesterday!
